We Will Live Again

This weekend my family had the beautiful opportunity
to celebrate the life of our Aunt Cathie.
Just 6 months ago, Aunt Cathie was diagnosed with cancer.
2 weeks ago our Father in Heaven called her home.

How grateful I am to know where she is now,
and that she is happy and safe.
Her funeral was both difficult and joyous.
What an opportunity it was to share our love for her
with all her dear friends.
She loved the color pink. And so - at
her request - the family all wore pink. We had pink
flowers, pink ties, pink table cloths, and pink headbands.

Another thing Aunt Cat loved to do was cook..
(and we're talking SERIOUS cooking here!)
She not only cooked for our family numerous meals,
but catered for wedding receptions and bridal showers as
well. As a tribute to her talent, her dear friends, nieces, and sisters
put together a cookie table for all to sample after the
service. Each of the cookie recipes was one she
loved to make taken from her personal cookie recipe book.

How grateful I am to know that through the
Atonement of Jesus Christ I will see my Aunt Cathie again.
How grateful I am to know that through
the ordinances preformed in The Lord's holy temple
Collin and I can be sealed together with our family for the eternities,
and not just 'death do us part.'
I know that after Christ was crucified
He was resurrected, and that He lives
with the Father today. He is my advocate
and my friend.

"He is not here, but is risen."

"You make me happy whether you know it or not.."

Today marks
5 months
of wedded bliss :]

5 months ago we got married today.
4 months ago we celebrated our first Christmas
as hubby and wifey.
3 months ago we froze our
booties off trying
not to turn on our house's heater
(every penny counts!)
2 months ago we started back on a no sweets
because
1 month ago we got back from our
honeymoon.
And
today was a normal day with lots of dishes
to do and plenty of homework too.

Those Lemon Bars Are Probably Really Kicking In

I can't believe school is almost over?
Whoever decided the
semester should
end is one of my favorite
people right now.
(Thank you President Crow.)

.....

My sister and I decided it's time
to take action and stop being out of shape. We wanted
to take kind of a different approach. We
decided to come up
with a total number of miles to run before the
week reaches Friday.
You can run as many
miles day as you want, but you have to
be totally finished by Friday.
This week's number is
11.
Ok, you can stop laughing now. We have the
next 4 days.. to do 11 miles..
and you are thinking
WHIMPY!
Well, it gets even worse.
Izzy and I decided we'd hit the road this afternoon
around 3:00pm.
We had just under 2 miles finished
and Izzy decided to jump right
into the consolidated canal by our house
and chase after some ducks!
So what did I do?
Cease running and
start walking.
(Lame.)
But I was exhausted! 2 miles and I was toast.
Izzy being in the canal was my opportunity to call it quits.
She swam around in there for a minute
or two, climbed her way
out, and shook
that nasty water off all over the place.
Not a care in the world!

I've come to the conclusion that I
need to start smaller.
Not having
run consistently
since, honestly, I can't even remember
when, is going to take a little more time to getting back
into the swing of things than I had hoped.
But that's ok right?
I'm just happy to be healthy
right now and to enjoy how beautiful the
weather has been these past few days.
I love Arizona!

Today's exact mile count: 3.43 mi

Glad

I love wild flowers.
I bought a pack of seeds from Target and
tried to plant some in my front yard
(it didn't workout
so well?)
Regardless, I love wildflowers!

It must have been raining
Wednesday
while I was in class,
because as I was heading out to my car
this hint of a rainbow popped
out of nowhere!
