Keep On Dreaming

I was introduced to this poem today
during my language literacy (aka teaching kids to read) class.
Sometimes you stumble across something that
really sticks with you. This was
one of those stumblings.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Langston Hughes

This poem is so hopeful. It focuses on the
negative - what happens if you let your dreams slip
away. But imagine the opposite. Life
would be beautiful.
