Shower Curtain

This summer Collin spent about 10 weeks in China.

So I got to spend the summer crafting with my Mom :]
(Can you tell we're related?)

One of the favorite projects I did,
I found on Design Sponge: Our Bathroom Shower Curtain

Hong Kong to this really beautiful
island and rented a bike and road it all over!)

A New Kind of Radio

Sometimes I get super sick of the same songs
being played over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
So I set out on a quest to find something
new to listen to.
In doing so, I stumbled across http://radio.lds.org.
It has quickly become my favorite
radio station!
This station consists mostly of talk shows (I think that's what they're called?)
and a few music programs. I love it
because I learn from the people being
interviewed.
The messages have
a way of making my work day a little more uplifting, and
help me keep a positive
attitude for the rest of the day :]

Banana Chocolate Chip Nut and Blueberry Muffins

As of lately my favorite thing to bake is muffins!
So yesterday I tried two new recipes. They were seriously
way yummy. And super easy.

Banana Choco Chip Nut
(These were super quick!)

And..
Blueberry

Here's the links to both of them

Ouch

You know that Christmas movie,
where that kid gets his tong stuck on a frozen light pole?
Well,
that happened to me today.
On a popsicle.

Yep, that's my blood
on that popsicle.

Favorite Quote of the Day

I used to have a quote that I found on the back of
a cereal box hanging in my bedroom
that said,
"It is possible to please 100% of the people 100% of the time,"
I now realize the cereal box was probably bragging
about how delicious their cereal
was... and that there is actually no possible way to
REALLY please everyone, all the time.
Heart broken, I took the quote down.

But now, I have come to the conclusion, that if you can't
help everybody and save the world before dinner,
you can simply settle - in the most positive use
of the term possible - to
"do what you can, where you are,
with what you have!"

Thank you Teddy Roosevelt
for your kind words of wisdom.

4 Secrets That Help My Work Day Fly By

1. Pack a healthy snack.
(Now we're not talking Lays BBQ chips or M&Ms or sugar cookies or even diet coke.
NO. We're talking popcorn and a sliced apple.
A bag of Pop Weaver Light Butter only has
200 Calories
IN THE WHOLE BAG!
That will keep you munching for quite a while.
OR. The other ladies at work like to snack on cucumbers or celery
soaked in lemon juice and sprinkled with salt.
>10 calories (depending on the serving size of course.)

2. Pin up a couple of pictures.
At our company Christmas dinner one of my friends went around and took
a picture of everyone with their spouse.
She then printed out a copy for each person to put in a frame
on their desk! She said, "It's so everyone can remember why
they come to work everyday. We do it for our loved ones!"
What a thoughtful gesture.

3. Make it a game.
Sometimes I try and race the clock.
I give myself a set amount of minutes to finish a task
then
go! I'm usually surprised at how much a can
actually get done when i do this.

4. Keep a running list.
I love list-making.
Thus, I make them at work:
grocery list
to-do list
gift list
wish list
why i love collin list
calorie list
and ect!
